Dear Art Center Patron:

January, 2008 continues our regular season of activities at Northern Lakes, including several important performances and an exhibit we think you won't want to miss. On Friday, January 4, the Northern Lakes Center for the Arts will open "A Photography Exhibit" by student photographer, Nathaniel Schlecht from Amery. This promises to be a beautiful display which will continue through January 30. Admission to the opening is free of charge and, as usual, refreshments will be served. Then on Saturday, January 12, Northern Lakes will host "A Writer's Forum," an evening of original stories, poems and essays as published in Northern Lakes' Soundings.  This particular issue highlights the wit and humor of John Degan, A member of the Northern Lakes Writers' Guild who recently passed away.  On the following Saturday, January 19, the Center will present "A Young Performers' Concert" featuring the musical talents  and abilities of local young musicians. this annual concert is always one of the musical highlights of the season and one you will not want to miss. And finally, on Saturday, January 26, Northern Lakes will present a special performance, "Celebrating the Haggis," a tribute to the poetry of Scottish poet, Robert Burns. You ask, "What is the Haggis?" You will just have to come and find out for yourself. This evening promises great poetry, great music, great food, and great fun for everyone. It will surely be memorable; come and join us.

We think a fun continuation of our regular season!  As usual, season tickets are always available in the Northern Lakes office. Thank you for your continued support of the Northern Lakes Center for the Arts.

Sincerely,

LaMoine MacLaughlin, Executive Director
